The local football family within Cumberland, like the whole community, has been left devastated by the tragic loss of Jay Cartmell at such a young age and in such tragic circumstances.

Jay was a youth player for Whitehaven Miners Social JFC and our thoughts and condolences remain with his family, friends and all at the football club.

We have been working with the club and they have asked that we look to co-ordinate a county-wide tribute to Jay next weekend (12th and 13th of October) including a period of/minutes applause ahead of all games.  Leagues in the county have been asked to take part, so this will all be confirmed and communicated next week.

The club would like to thank all those clubs and individuals from within the grassroots game who have messaged them to show their support, which has been of great support to them at this difficult time.
